The Rocky Lights Lighthouses

HOME...PEOPLE...PLANTS...LAYOUT...STRUCTURES...TRESTLES & BRIDGES

The lighthouses are the "lights" in our name. As mentioned in the home page, Jim collects lighthouses and is obsessed with visiting every lighthouse in the country. This is what adds inspiration to the garden. The large lighthouses are g-scale but many are smaller. It doesn't matter because we think they look great!! (10 foot rule applies) They are wood, plastic and cast iron. Some have been touched up with paint and others have been left to the elements like their real counterparts. Most of the lighthouses "work". That is they have toggle switches in them so that battery power can light them at night. The lights are a "RAM" product which slowly flashes on and off giving the illusion of a working fresnel lens. We're constantly on the lookout for more so if you find a good one please email us and it will definitely show up somewhere in the Rocky Lights Railroad.
